As night falls over Chongqing, the city blazes with dazzling lights. Looking up at the pinnacle of WFC Chongqing World Financial Center, it shines like a brilliant star in the night sky. Perched on the 70th floor of WFC at an altitude of 590 meters, WINGS offers a 360° panoramic view, allowing you to take in the entire glittering nightscape of Chongqing.

Stepping into WINGS feels like wandering above the clouds. The glass, with its transparent and reflective properties, expands the visual horizon of the entire space. The starry sky outside the window, tinged with a hint of mystery and laziness, softens the crisp coolness of the interior. Light and shadow in varying depths sculpt a sculptural dimension within the space. What exactly is the charm of this so-called "tallest entertainment venue in Western China"? Why choose to operate a bar in such a prime location as the World Financial Center? We had the privilege of interviewing Jason.c, the Brand Music Director of WINGS. Let’s join hands to lift the veil of mystery surrounding this "City of Skies".

"As a core city in Western China integrating commerce, art, fashion, and tourism, Chongqing has long lacked an iconic venue where visitors can both admire the city’s river views and enjoy fine wine and music.

Nestled in the prime location of an international Grade A office building, high-end luxury hotels, and an international luxury shopping center—while also connecting to the Huixianlou Observation Deck—WINGS Bar is invested here to break the norm of Chongqing’s entertainment spaces and allow guests to better experience Chongqing’s culture," Jason.c said thoughtfully.

"The only thing that sets WINGS apart from other bars is that there’s no hardstyle music here—only pure House Music," said Jason.c, who started his career as a DJ. He became more talkative when the conversation turned to music.

"While top 100 DJs, large-scale music parties, and electronic music elements have swept through major bars with overwhelming momentum, China’s music market is in a state of returning to simplicity, and it will always come back to the era of House Music. The real trend isn’t about what’s popular now, but what the next generation of young people love. There are very few bars in China that focus purely on House Music, and we aim to make WINGS the only high-end, pure House Music-style bar in Western China."

Preparations for WINGS began in mid-2017. Spanning two floors with a total area of 2,000 square meters, the bar’s main hall features 32 viewing booths, 6 VIP rooms, and a professional-grade mixology bar. For such a high-end bar focusing on House Music, the sound system is like WINGS’ core engine.

"The core of WINGS is music, and the second is the 360° viewing glass as the backdrop—so the requirements for sound quality are extremely high. How to design an audio system that aligns with WINGS’ positioning while meeting the venue’s sound field demands has actually posed a significant challenge for the brand."

"The first time I encountered Clair Brothers was at a large bar in Chengdu. Its bass has an excellent sense of enclosure and powerful energy—even after listening for a long time, your ears won’t feel fatigued. Since the BASS and drums in House Music have extremely high requirements for bass performance, I was impressed when the person in charge of Guangzhou Xinjieyi Technology Co., Ltd. remained confident in delivering a satisfactory solution after understanding WINGS’ unique sound field design. That’s why WINGS ultimately opted for a full Clair Brothers audio system."

Two arrays consisting of 4 Clair Brothers kiT CURVE12 speakers (2 on each side) cover the front area of the stage. As a single 12-inch curved line array with a 15-degree coverage angle, the kiT CURVE doesn’t need to be mounted very high even in WINGS’ limited space. As long as it maintains an effective range, the on-site sound will still be extremely clear.

A total of 8 Clair Brothers FF2-HX full-range speakers are installed throughout the venue to cover the remaining booth areas. For low-frequency reinforcement, the system incorporates 2 CS-218 dual 18-inch subwoofers and 8 kiTSub single 18-inch subwoofers, strategically placed in front of the stage, the VIP area, and the rear section. Additionally, 4 kiT 15 full-range speakers are deployed. The CS-218 delivers deep bass extension, while the kiTSub units are positioned in areas with more limited space. All speakers are powered by Clair Brothers FP14000 amplifiers.

WINGS features 6 VIP rooms in total. Tailored to the spatial characteristics of each private room, each one is equipped with 2 kiT12 speakers as the main sound reinforcement, complemented by 1AM coaxial speakers for fill sound. The subwoofers are primarily the CS18-II model.

"I have never seen a private room fully equipped with Clair Brothers speakers. As a DJ, this is also the first time I’ve heard Clair Brothers’ sound in a private room, which has completely changed my perception of its audio performance. Thanks to the acoustic treatment of the private rooms—whether dealing with reflections from wooden floors or marble surfaces—Clair Brothers’ sound coverage is relatively uniform, and the bass delivers a powerful impact," Jason.c stated.
